Leann Laithwaite, MBACP, MNCPS
Integrative Adult Counsellor
Hello, my name is Leann, I am a qualified Adult Integrative Counsellor. I have trained in several different modalities such as Person-Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic. As a counsellor I recognise that each person is unique and what works for one individual may not necessarily work for another. This is why using an integrative method with my clients is so important to me. This methodology helps me to tailor each session to my client’s specific needs and goals. It also helps me to work closely with each individual person, so they are at the centre of our work together. By listening and understanding my client’s story I am then able to provide unique personalised support. I assist my clients to meet their goals whether that be to heal, explore their past, learn new skills, or develop as a person.
I strive to make my client’s feel at ease by offering a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment. Within my practice I have worked and continue to work with individuals experiencing anxiety, relationship issues, depression, the effects of autism and ADHD, emotional and physical abuse, bereavement and past trauma. Being able to assist a person on their counselling journey is such a privilege.
My own life experiences, along with my training, has taught me that reaching out for help and support when needed is vital. Our path through life is not always an easy one but having a helping hand, listening ear, supportive voice or the offer of a different perspective can make all the difference.

“We do not change until we’re ready. Sometimes our inner pain or unfulfilled longing gets so loud and insistent that we can’t ignore it another minute. But readiness doesn’t come from the outside and it can’t be rushed or forced. You’re ready when you’re ready, when something inside shifts and you decide – Until now I did that, now I’m going to do something else”. ~ Dr Edith Ever, The Gift
