Meet the Therapist
Hi, my name is Catrina and a warm welcome to my profile. I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and since qualifying in 2014, I have been working within the community and private sector supporting clients with a variety of concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma and relationship difficulties, etc.
Life can be hard and however capable, strong or determined we are, sometimes we are faced with situations or feelings that really challenge us. Counselling provides time for reflection away from the pressures of everyday life, time to explore what we are facing in the context of a safe confidential relationship.
Professional Qualifications
I hold qualifications and I am accredited in the following areas:
- University of Ulster Foundation Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
- Crisis intervention and Recovery.
- Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
- Adverse Childhood Experience.
- Complex Trauma and Childhood Recovery
- Mental Health First Aid.
My Style of Therapy
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I can draw on a variety of techniques to suit individual needs. At the core of all counselling is the relationship between client and counsellor. I am often described as warm and empathic, and I work with my clients to ensure they feel anchored and supported throughout the process. I offer a warm and confidential space to explore whatever is causing you difficulty. I will listen to you without judgement and support you to reflect on your situation at your own pace.
I work with a humanistic, existential approach and believe that change comes from within. I believe that through gently exploring our experiences we can better understand ourselves and our relationship to the things in life which challenge us. With greater insight comes the possibility for change.
