Meet the Therapist
Hello, my name is David, I qualified as an integrative Counsellor in 2012. I have been working in community-based organisations and private practice from this time and have vast experience in working with clients with a wide range of issues.
Clients seeking support with depression, anxiety, grief, abuse, feeling stuck, sleep disturbance etc, can expect to be met by a fellow human being who is determined to help you heal. I will support you to improve the relationship with yourself, in a way that can heal whatever wounds need to be met and healed.
Peter Levine, the creator of Somatic Experiencing states “that trauma isn’t in the event, it’s in the nervous system” – meaning whatever has happened has happened, but our suffering is the imprint this has left on our nervous system, and this is what can be renegotiated in the here and now through therapy.

My Style of Therapy
I have spent many years training as a therapist and continue to add to my skillset to remain current and best informed to best serve my clients. I am also trained as a Somatic Experience practitioner and a Gestalt therapist. These trainings have helped me to understand myself and others through different lenses, understanding the interplay between mind, body, spirit and environment and how all these parts of self-need to be met with curiosity and understanding, to help us to be in the world in the healthiest way possible.
