Meet the Therapist
Hello, my name is Debbie, and I am a qualified Integrative Therapist registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have worked in the field of mental health since 2011, in both the community and private sectors.
Life doesn’t always follow a straight line, and sometimes we need someone to walk alongside us, provide support and guidance while we work things out. I will aim to offer this in our work together – a space that feels safe, grounded and genuinely personal and human. Whether it’s anxiety, low mood, grief, identity, relationship issues, or just a general sense of being stuck, we will work together in a way that feels honest, respectful and tailored to you. I have a vast range of experience working with a diverse population. Whoever you are, whatever you need support with, you are more than welcome in my therapy room. I value and appreciate the richness and diversity of the clients I work with, every client brings something unique and I always aim to meet you where you are.
Professional Qualifications
I hold qualifications in the following areas:
- BA (Hons) English and Communication
- Level 4 Certificate in Counselling
- Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling
- MHFA – Mental Health First Aid
- Evidence Based Bereavement Training
- Risk Prevention Training
- Neurodiversity Affirming Practice
My Style of Therapy
I work integratively, which means I draw from humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches depending on what you need, but at the heart of it all is a person-centred philosophy. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and prioritise working collaboratively with you to listen, reflect and help you connect with your own inner resources.
