Meet the Therapist

I am a fully qualified Integrative Adult Counsellor. I have trained as a counsellor due to my deep desire to connect with people, and to be a safe space for difficult conversations. I help clients to explore and process issues, worries, and fears without judgement or expectation. At the root of my practice is a person-centred approach – I trust in the power and potential of all my clients to know more about themselves, and to learn how to heal emotional wounds. It is my greatest privilege as a counsellor to empower clients in getting to know themselves better, and to experience emotions and feelings they may not feel safe exploring in other relationships in their life. I help clients face challenging feelings – despair, feeling stuck, grief, pain and inadequacies.

Professional Qualifications

I hold qualifications in the following areas:

  • Fd Degree in Integrative Counselling, Ulster University
  • Level 4 Certificate – Counselling Studies, Ulster University
  • BACP and OU Primer in Online and Telephone Counselling
  • Adult Safeguarding and Risk Management
  • Intergenerational Trauma Training
  • LGBTQ+ and Allyship Training

My Style of Therapy

My practice is tailored to the individual needs of my client – I draw on elements of cognitive, behavioural therapy, psychodynamic and humanistic theory where appropriate. I incorporate psychoeducation into my practice to help clients understand better the physical manifestation of issues such as anxiety and depression. With this work I will also explore practical exercises to manage the physiological effects of poor mental health. I enjoy working creatively with clients and I’m open to using music, art, poetry and play as creative tools in the therapeutic process if desired.

I work with adults of all ages, backgrounds, and life experience. Anti-oppressive practice is important to me, and I am conscious of exploring issues of difference and diversity in assessment and throughout the therapeutic process.  I am an ally to disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ and non-white communities.
