Joan Beech MBACP, FdSc

Integrative Adult Therapist

Hello, my name is Joan Beech, I am a qualified integrative therapist, I hold professional registration with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP).

The kind of therapy and therapeutic space I am passionate about providing is one where you feel free from fear and judgment to navigate those difficult emotions, thoughts and beliefs that can be so very hard to understand and express openly with others.  I will offer you an affirming, encouraging environment where you will be heard, and supported to take steps towards the best way forward for you.

As an integrative therapist I am skilled at adapting my practice to a wide range of issues incorporating a blend of approaches.  I have experience of working with a diverse range of clients with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, phobias, and relationship difficulties.

Based on your individual needs and preferences, whether you wish to focus on the past or present.  I will offer you a range of techniques and approaches to help you explore your issues and overcome barriers to your personal growth.  Your individualised therapy can incorporate; CBT (including traditional, strengths-based, mindfulness-centred), Person-centred and Psychodynamic.  I often share psychoeducation to help you understand and alleviate the issues you are experiencing.

I appreciate that different people require different styles of therapy including pace, structure and level of activity, I am committed to working responsively to your needs throughout the duration of therapy.  We will work collaboratively, reviewing and modifying the approach where necessary, to ensure that you receive therapy that works best for you.
