Julie Halliday MNCPS (Accred)

As well as being an Accredited Integrative Eating Disorder/Issues Counsellor, Julie is also an Accredited Integrative Counsellor

My name is Julie and alongside providing general therapy, I also offer specialist support to adults dealing with disordered eating, body image concerns and eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge-eating Disorder.

Do you feel out of control around food? Do you have critical thoughts about your body? Are you unhappy with your weight, shape or size and feel that life would be better if only you could reach your weight-loss goal?

I provide a confidential and safe space to understand and repair your relationship with food, your own body and yourself.  Using the therapeutic framework developed by the National Centre for Eating Disorders I will work with you to help challenge and replace the unhelpful beliefs, distorted thinking and harmful behaviours that leave you feeling unhappy, isolated, depressed and ‘not good enough’.

I will work alongside other professionals (this may include your GP and a dietician/nutritional therapist), where appropriate, to provide holistic support and ensure your safety amd recovery.

I will offer acceptance and non-judgement and I will work at a pace that feels comfortable to you. Eating issues are complex problems that trap us in vicious cycles, but recovery is possible. I will work with you to help you regain control over your life and create a long-term, sustainable recovery.

I hold qualifications and I am accredited in the following areas:

  • Master Practitioner, National Centre for Eating Disorders
  • Foundation Degree in Counselling
  • CPCAB Level 3 Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Level 2 Counselling Skills
  • Levels 1 & 2 Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
  • First Aid for Mental Health
