Meet the Therapist

Hello, my name is Melissa and I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

I believe therapy is about cultivating growth and strength for your mental wellbeing. Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but it can also be the beginning of something deeply meaningful. My role is to walk alongside you at your pace, offering a safe, compassionate and steady space where you can explore whatever you are carrying.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether that shows up as anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, loss, relationship difficulties, identity questions, or simply feeling stuck. I work with a wide range of adult mental health presentations and have experience supporting neurodiverse individuals and members of minority groups. Creating an inclusive, affirming and respectful environment is central to how I practise. Whoever you are, you are very welcome here.

Professional Qualifications

I hold qualifications in the following areas:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (2023)
  • Level 5 Counselling Children & Young People – CPCAB (In Progress)
  • Level 4 Counselling Skills & Theory
  • Level 3 Mental Health First Aid
  • Level 3 Health & Social Care
  • Level 3 Counselling and Special Needs
  • Psychological Trauma Interventions
  • Working with Neurodivergent Clients

My Style of Therapy

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, rooted in person-centred values. This means our work together is shaped around you and your story, your strengths and your goals. Therapy with me is not about ‘fixing’, it is about gently making sense of your experiences, reconnecting with your inner resilience, and nurturing sustainable change in a way that feels natural and authentic.

I see therapy as an organic process, like planting seeds of awareness, self-compassion and courage. With the right conditions of safety and understanding, growth follows.
