Clare is a BACP registered counsellor with a background in the emergency services and a BSc in Psychology. Person-centred at her core, she supports adults through anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma and relationship difficulties with warmth, practicality and deep personal insight.

About Me

Hi, I'm Clare. I'm a professional counsellor offering a safe, non-judgemental space to explore whatever has brought you to seek support. Whether you're looking for a deeper understanding of yourself or want to work through a specific issue, I'll walk alongside you every step of the way.

I trained as a counsellor later in my career, having spent my first 20 years working in the emergency services. That experience gave me a real appreciation of how life's circumstances can affect us and how challenging change can be. I have extensive experience helping people heal from a wide range of difficulties, including loss, anxiety, depression, relationship problems and a general sense of dissatisfaction with life. Whatever you need support with, you are very welcome here.

I am trained in three therapeutic approaches (humanistic counselling, CBT and psychodynamic counselling) and integrate all three, starting from a person-centred perspective. This means you are at the centre of the counselling experience at all times. I work holistically, exploring the connection between mind and body, strengthening your support network and helping you build new skills. I believe strongly in the value of healthy boundaries and self-worth, and I work in practical ways to help you develop both.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply deciding that you deserve support, and if you've read this far, you may already be taking that first step. There's no right or wrong way to begin, and you don't need to arrive with the perfect words. Whatever you bring, I'll meet you with warmth, patience and respect. We will start wherever you are and go at a pace that feels right for you.
