About Me

Hi, I'm Alyson. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor professionally registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have extensive experience supporting people affected by anxiety, low mood, abuse, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma and low self-esteem. I have also gained significant experience supporting those affected by the Troubles in Northern Ireland , working with PTSD, complex trauma and transgenerational trauma.

Many of us have times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed and struggle to cope. I believe everyone has the ability to change, given the right conditions, environment and support , and that begins from the moment you enter the therapeutic space, which I aim to make warm, caring and safe.

As an integrative counsellor I can work in a way that is truly tailored to you, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT approaches. I work ethically, maintain confidentiality, and my goal is always to help you feel at ease , so that our sessions become a space where you can talk about whatever you need to, feel genuinely supported in making sense of your experience, and move forward in whatever way feels right for you.

We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed.
