About Me

Hi, I'm Alyson. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor professionally registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have extensive experience supporting people affected by anxiety, low mood, abuse, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma and low self-esteem. I have gained significant experience working with PTSD, complex trauma and transgenerational trauma.

As an adult integrative counsellor, I offer a warm, safe and confidential space where you can come exactly as you are. You don't need to have all the answers, and you don't need to know where to begin. Together, we can gently explore what you are experiencing, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Sometimes life can feel difficult, overwhelming or simply too much. There may be times when you find yourself struggling with your thoughts, emotions or relationships, or perhaps you're not quite sure what is wrong, only that you don't feel like yourself. I believe that having someone who truly listens and takes the time to understand can make a real difference.

I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is at the heart of therapy. I offer empathy, compassion and acceptance, without judgement. My aim is to create a space where you feel heard, valued and understood, and where you can begin to make sense of your experiences and feelings.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches recognising that no two people are the same. I will work alongside you to understand what you need and what feels right for you. Counselling is not about having someone tell you what to do it is about having the time and space to explore, reflect and understand yourself more deeply, while having someone beside you along the way.

Whatever has brought you to counselling, you don't have to carry it alone I would be honoured to offer you a safe space to talk, to be heard and together to explore a way forward.

We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed.
