About Me

Hi, I'm Carmel. Making the decision to come to counselling can be difficult, but taking that first step is often the beginning of the changes you want to see in your life. I'm a qualified Integrative Counsellor and an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

I work within the three main counselling models: person-centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic counselling. This allows me to work uniquely with each client, drawing on techniques from different approaches to tailor the work specifically to you, rather than fitting you into a single model.

We can all find life challenging when our feelings and thoughts become overwhelming or confusing. Let's go on that journey together. I'm here to support you in reaching your goals and embracing the change needed to live the life you deserve.

I'm passionate about creating a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space in which you can feel comfortable exploring your current feelings. I see myself as a counsellor who facilitates change through exploration, helping clients increase their self-awareness and self-acceptance so they can make healthier, more confident choices going forward.

I qualified as a therapist in 2018 and have worked across several different counselling agencies since, giving me a broad grounding in supporting people through a wide range of life circumstances. I'm committed to supporting you through challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement and loss, and whatever else life brings your way. Alongside this, I draw on additional training in areas like mental health first aid and substance recovery where it's relevant, though our work together will always be led by what matters most to you.

Whatever has brought you here, there's no judgement, only support. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd be glad to walk alongside you as you work towards feeling more like yourself again.
