About Me
I'm Michele, a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and qualified Clinical Supervisor. For more than 30 years I've worked across community and voluntary services, alongside people facing some of life's hardest and most complex experiences. That experience means very little will surprise or unsettle me, and you won't need to protect me from your story.
You might be here because something has been weighing on you for a long time, or because life has recently shifted and you're not sure how to cope. You may not even be able to name what's wrong, only that things don't feel right. Whatever has brought you here, you don't need to have the words for it yet. We can begin with where you are now.
I work with people struggling with trauma, neurodivergent, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and life direction, to name some. I also hold a postgraduate qualification in Dual Diagnosis for more complex issues. Many people worry that what they want to talk about is too embarrassing, too shameful or too much. It might be something you've never said out loud before. You don't need to tidy up your story before bringing it to therapy, and you won't be judged for it.
My approach is integrative and person-centred. Rather than fitting you into one model, I draw on different ways of working to suit you. At its heart, I see therapy as a human relationship: a place where you can feel heard, understood, and supported while we explore what's happening for you and what you'd like to change.
Counselling isn't about telling you what to do or trying to "fix" you. It's about helping you understand yourself more deeply, recognise patterns that no longer serve you, and make choices that feel authentically yours. We'll go at your pace.
