About Me

Hi, I'm Devin. I am a fully qualified Integrative Adult Counsellor who came to this work out of a deep desire to connect with people and to be a safe space for difficult conversations. I help clients explore and process issues, worries and fears without judgement or expectation, and I believe firmly in the power and potential of every person to know themselves more deeply and to heal emotional wounds.

At the root of my practice is a person-centred approach, and I tailor my work to the individual needs of each client , drawing on cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic and humanistic theory where appropriate. I also incorporate psychoeducation to help clients understand the physical manifestations of anxiety and depression, alongside practical exercises to manage the physiological effects of poor mental health. I enjoy working creatively and am open to using music, art, poetry and play as tools in the therapeutic process.

I work with adults of all ages, backgrounds and life experiences. Anti-oppressive practice is central to my values, and I am conscious of exploring difference and diversity throughout the therapeutic process. I am an ally to disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ and non-white communities, and I regard it as my greatest privilege to empower clients in getting to know themselves better.

Change happens, if it needs to, when we become aware of what we are, not when we try to become what we are not.
