About Me

Hi, I'm Marie. I am a therapist with specific training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I recognise the challenges that we all encounter in life and the huge step it takes to enter counselling , and I understand the distress or anxiety you may be experiencing in doing so.

My focus is to enable you to feel safe to share, so that we can work together with your needs at the centre and a clear focus on a way forward. I value your voice and the opportunity to support you. I will listen, go at your pace and create a non-judgmental space. I have a particular interest in bereavement and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma and the experience of feeling stuck, and I have worked within GP practices and across voluntary, community and neurodivergent support settings.

I will tailor my approach to your specific needs, drawing primarily on CBT to identify patterns, work through your challenges, explore core beliefs and build and strengthen your resilience. CBT offers a skilled, practical model that you can learn and continue to use throughout your life. Where it feels helpful, I may also draw on creative approaches to supplement our talking work.
