About Me
Hello, I’m Jackie. If you’re reading this, you’ve possibly reached a stage in your life where you just can’t do it all on your own anymore. I’m here for you.
For more than 35 years, I have been working with and supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds and from all walks of life. You may be living with or be impacted by PTSD, complex/transgenerational trauma, ‘Troubles’-related issues, abuse, bereavement, mental health difficulties, self-esteem or challenges in your relationships; you may be stuck and thinking there must be more to life. My experience means that I am used to working with complex matters – very little will be ‘too much’ - you won’t have to ‘dress up’ your story for me, and you won’t be judged.
My approach is trauma-informed, person-centred and integrative, meaning that I will not box you into a particular therapeutic model, but will take time to get to know you, and offer you compassion, empathy and acceptance, as together we identify and explore what is important to you. I’m not here as an expert on life, but I am here to walk alongside you with warmth, openness and a genuine desire to help you towards change and healing. Whatever you bring, I promise I will use my full range of skills and training to support you.
I understand that it is not always easy to decide to come for counselling – it’s often scary and you might not have the words yet for what doesn’t feel right. You might not know how you would like things to be different, and you might be afraid you’ll be pushed into talking about something that feels too shameful, embarrassing or deeply held for you.
It’s ok – we’ll go at your pace, I’ll truly listen to you, and together we’ll begin with where you are now.
I’m here for you.

When someone really hears you without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good.
